Red Bull Red Gap
BBB LTD and Red Bull teamed up for Omaha’s Go Skateboarding Day in downtown Omaha. We all met up at the front of BBB LTD and from there headed to different spots around the city for $100 best trick contests.

We got up early and swept the parking lot, and got things set up.
The first Best Trick was on the manual pad. It came down to Jeff Fowler (ollie over whole thing, inward heelflip manual), Ratnuts (halfcab heel manual), Drew Newlin (nollie kickflip manual), Sean Sauders (kickflip nose manual shuvit, nollie shuvit manual) and Lucas (nose manual 360 shuvit).
The crowd voted, and Drew won the $100.

We hit a dead end with construction, and had to cut through a gravel lot to the next spot at Creighton.
We got kicked out within 10 minutes. The security guard came up and everyone skated off, and we headed to the next spot. The security guard stopped a few of us and asked who was in charge and what was going on. He seemed confused.

We all met back up at the Civic Auditorium and a ton of stuff went down. Mikey Anzaldo kickflipped off the 9 on someone else’s board, Ben Nevius did big shifties, Rob Warren did a frontside 180 flip, and then Jeff Fowler did a tuck knee down the large set. And we all thought that was going to win it. Then Corey Foster hardflipped down the large set, and won the $100.
After that, we bombed the hill and went to the fountain on 16th. It was super fun skating through the streets and stopping traffic with a huge crowd of us. We got to the fountain and John Pinning did a smith kickflip out. Ratnuts did a 180 heelflip. Michael jumped off the top into the bank and broke his board. A lot of stuff was going on, and then a security guard rode through the crowd on his bike yelling for everyone to leave.

So we all skated down to the Holland Arts Center, and skated the gap. Someone did a 3flip over it, and we got kicked out. And we awarded him the money. But then the guard told us we can stay another 5 minutes. Before we left, Lucas did a switch flip over it. And then someone shot their board into a lady’s ankle on accident and she screamed and rolled on the ground for awhile before she decided she was ok and got up like it was nothing.

After that, we skated down to the Yellow Upledge. This was the last spot before the Red Bull Red Gap. Jeff Fowler did front smith grind 180 out, and tailslide 270 out. And Ratnuts won it with heelflip 5-0 180. And then we got kicked out by the police. So we moved on.

Jeff Fowler inward heelflip off the BBB LTD Red Bull Red Gap. He also did a kickflip tuck knee. Sean Sauders did a switch backside heelflip.

Robbie Warren won with a 180 kickflip, nollie heelflip and nollie bigspin heel.

Product toss.

Jeff Boynton and Kelly McManis.

The police came to break up the event. Just in time, as we were cleaning up.

Huge thanks to everyone that came out. It’s cool to see everyone from all parts of the city come together and have fun skateboarding.
If anyone has photos or videos, send them to us. We’ll post them here. Thanks again! We had fun.
